Yeah, Yeah, Another World, Another World
“Well, everyone, how about we start by asking Rocco to tell us some of the party names he’s seen in this guild, and use those as references?”
“I see, not a bad idea.”
“Let’s do that.”
Originally, they were planning a simple banquet to celebrate the completion of their first request and guild registration, but the sudden task of choosing a party name had been thrown into the mix. As a result, everyone tried to push their own suggestions, and while it didn’t turn into a full-blown argument, the atmosphere was clearly not as light-hearted as before—there was a subtle tension in the air.
“Well, first, the most famous party in this guild is ‘Guidance of the Lake Water.’ It’s a party made up of veteran adventurers.”
“Hmm, that sounds pretty good.”
“Not bad, right?”
“I think it sounds cool.”
“It fits this town.”
“I’ve heard of it too, it’s famous.”
It seemed like everyone was giving it high marks.
“Then there’s another well-known one, an all-female party called ‘Yakomi’s Embrace.’ They gather women who’ve had bad experiences in the town or who are in difficult circumstances and help them out.”
“Wow, they sound like really good people.”
“Some of this didn’t translate well.”
“Oh, Yakomi is the name of the leader. She’s a really tough woman.”
“The party name suits their activities.”
“Misaki’s Embrace… hmm.”
“It sounds like a gentle name.”
“Helping people is cool.”
Some were having odd ideas, but it seemed like this party name was also getting high praise.
“Another famous one is the ‘Accounting King’ party from the Central Adventurers’ Guild. The members are good at bookkeeping and tax calculations, and they’ve been sent to help with everything from taverns and shops to the military police’s accounting. They’re especially in demand around the end of the year when taxes are due, and some people treat them like gods.”
“That sounds like an accounting software name.”
“The definition of adventurers is being stretched here.”
“The name sounds cool.”
“Isn’t it disrespectful to refer to them as ‘king’?”
“Rocco knows too much about everything, it’s kind of scary.”
“I like the simplicity.”
It seemed that most of the famous party names were getting high marks.
“Those are the most famous adventurer parties in this town. If you want reference names, should I just keep listing off what I can remember?”
“Please do.”
Rocco was impressively capable, to the point of being a little intimidating.
“Let’s see… ‘Steel Oath,’ ‘Dungeon Explorers,’ ‘Spiral Blade,’ ‘Goblin’s Friends,’ ‘Battle Spear Squad,’ ‘Dreaming of Tomorrow,’ ‘Wild Revelry,’ ‘Tsuki no Yoru Meikyū no Chi ni Kurufu Mono,’ ‘Feast Gathering’…”
There were quite a few moments that could have prompted some remarks.
“Then there’s ‘Water Dragon’s Gospel,’ ‘Kingdom’s Floral Assault,’ ‘Oni Yuki Squad,’ ‘Inu Inu Inu,’ ‘Swift Youth,’ ‘Dungeon Roar,’ ‘Rifoku Investigation Team,’ ‘Afternoon Housewife,’ ‘Eternal Petition,’ ‘Disturbed Fruit,’ ‘Temptation of the Tenement’…”
Ah, now we’re getting to the interesting part.
“Um, then there’s ‘Whispers of the Spring Breeze,’ ‘Wife’s Clothing Shop,’ ‘Rio=Ento’s Honor Guard,’ ‘Crimson Flame,’ ‘New Green Wind,’ ‘Wind of the Kingdom,’ ‘Fairy’s Wind,’ ‘Blue Sky Twin Hills,’ ‘Wet Fruit,’ ‘Torn Fruit’…”
“Wait, wait, can you stop for a moment?”
“Yes?”
“I can’t comment on all of these.”
“Why not?”
“I mean, it’s impossible, right? There are way too many with ‘wind’ in them, and didn’t some of those have perverted words mixed in? I can’t catch everything, right? Even ‘Ento=Rio’s Honor Guard’ has to be saved for later, right? It’s just too much.”
So, ‘Crimson Flame’ really existed, huh.
“Well, I think we’ve gathered enough party names to use as references, so let’s just decide on one now.”
“Understood.”
“Okay, let’s keep it fair. Each person, please write down your desired party name on this paper, fold it twice so no one can see, and then put it into this bag. Rocco and Osato-chan, since you can’t write in our language, please write your names or a mark that shows it’s yours.”
With that, everyone was handed paper and pens.
As everyone left the table and sat at the vacant seats, they began to write, hunched over.
“What’s this pen? It’s super easy to write with!”
I could hear Rocco ’s voice.
“I guess I’ll write mine too.”
After a while, everyone had placed their papers in the bag, and finally, the party name would be decided! Just then, Rio entered the dining hall.
“Oh, what’s everyone doing?”
The tense atmosphere relaxed.
I explained the situation to the curious Rio.
“Then let me be the one to pull the paper out of the bag. Since I don’t understand your country’s writing, I’ll hand the paper directly to Junpei after I draw it.”
“Got it, let’s do that.”
With everyone holding their breath, Rio pulled out a piece of paper from the bag.
“Here you go.”
I took the paper.
“Now, we’ll announce our party name!!”
