Chapter 130 : A Speed That Leaves Even Gods Behind

Defected Dark Healer’s Rise to Wealth

The kick unleashed by Urklow  struck Marrow’s face and sent him flying deep into the forest.

It was a combination of mass and velocity that should have crushed an ordinary person’s head, but the only sound that echoed was like that of a heavy iron ball falling onto cobblestones.

“──We’re getting out of here, Kiwi.”

Urklow  landed in front of me and said with a click of his tongue.

“Damn, no matter what kind of trickery this is… I didn’t feel a thing!”

“Indeed, he uses some intriguing holy techniques.”

“This isn’t the time to be calm about it. He’ll be back soon.”

“Then let’s hurry.”

As I replied, the Zombie Thief who had collapsed on the ground sank into my shadow.

Though I managed to extinguish the divine flame, my wounds haven’t fully healed yet.

But there’s no helping it.

If Marrow himself has appeared, then all remaining mana should be reserved for our strongest fighter, Urklow .

“Kiwi, hurry up.”

“Then…”

I walked up to Urklow  and spread my arms wide like a scarecrow.

Just as hands slipped under my armpits, whoosh.

My body was easily lifted up.

“You’re so light. Are you eating properly?”

“I believe I’m eating a balanced diet.”

“Eat more meat, damn it.”

Urklow  inserted me into the gap of his loosened abdominal gear and then tightened it again. My body ended up being held against Urklow  as if strapped in a baby carrier.

“According to plan, we’re changing tactics, right?”

“Yes. Since Marrow has arrived, the delaying tactic is now obsolete.”

Though I thought the possibility was low, I never expected him to actually show up.

But since he has, things will proceed quickly.

From here on, it’s time for an <All-Out War>.

“Kiwi. Even though I’ve got you tied up tight, make sure you hold on properly. The pace from here won’t be anything like before.”

After giving that warning, Urklow ‘ posture changed drastically.

His stance became low, almost parallel to the ground.

At the same time,

──Rustle rustle.

A large ball of light came flying towards us, piercing through the leaves…

…No, wait.

“You inferior creatures!!! Do you really think you can escape at this point!?”

Marow, enveloped in white light, charged straight towards our backs. His glowing hand reached out to grab Urklow ‘ back.

But his hand grasped only air.

“Hah, try catching me if you can, Marrow.”

Urklow  had already started running.

Like a bullet shot from a slingshot, he raced through the dark forest on a low trajectory.

However,

“Fool.”

Even so, Marrow continued to pursue us.

Suddenly, the surroundings became as bright as day.

Marrow had activated the Great Sanctuary.

I quickly used Dark Heal to neutralize the damage to Urklow , but his movement faltered for just a brief moment.

In that opening,

“Do you arrogant beasts truly believe you can leave a god behind!?”

Marrow had moved in front of Urklow .

It was as if to flaunt his overwhelming power.

In his hand, he held another light sword, raising it high to strike us down.

“A god, huh…”

But the very next moment after Urklow  placed both hands on the ground,

“Unfortunately, we’ve already passed you.”

Without giving Marrow time to bring down his light sword, Urklow  had already overtaken him.

“What…!?”

“See ya. I’ll leave you far behind, self-proclaimed god.”

With a sly grin,

Urklow  kicked off the ground.

With his robust <four legs> covered in silvery fur.

──Urklow ‘ true strength lay in regressing…no, evolving from a bipedal magical beast to a quadrupedal one.

Running in the posture of a wolf, Urklow ‘ body raced even sharper than a wolf, cutting through the wind with a high-pitched sound.

“Wa–Wait! Urklow !!!”

“If you can follow, then follow me, Marrow! Although, I doubt you can keep up!”

“…! How dare you inferior beings mock a god!!!”

Marrow flew after us determinedly, but naturally, he couldn’t possibly keep up.

With each passing second, Urklow  increased the distance between himself and Marrow.

No one could match Urklow ‘ speed, specialized solely in running at full throttle.

Not even a god or a 3000-year-old elf who calls himself a god.

And once a certain distance was established, Urklow  slowed his pace.

He deliberately kept his back visible to Marrow without completely breaking away.

“We’ve got him nicely baited, Kiwi.”

“As expected of Urklow . Let’s continue luring him…to the construction site where Sesh and the others are waiting.”

The initial role of our devastation unit, consisting of me and Urklow , was to buy time for the demonic army to construct their base by causing chaos at the frontline, but now the situation had changed.

If the enemy’s supreme commander appears, it simplifies things.

Because defeating him would end the war.

…So let’s finish this quickly.

Once done, I should finally be able to live a peaceful life as a Dark Healer in the magic city’s hospital.

[Side: Hero]

Ten minutes before Urklow  attacked the World Tree village…

“Thanks to a benevolent informant, we’ve discovered Kiwi Alaya’s location.”

These words from Hades, the vice president of the Kingdom Church, were the starting point.

Hades, who claimed to have been taking a walk outside to clear his mind, returned with a map of this battlefield, Westwood, procured from somewhere, and then indicated the specific distance to Kiwi Alaya’s position.

“Here…Kiwi Alaya is…!”

Gritting his teeth, Hero Ares tightened his grip on the holy sword.

Responding to this, Hades nodded and

“Let’s get ahead of them.”

With a sinister smirk, he chuckled.

“It seems they are constructing their base at this location. They will likely engage the elven army soon. So, we’ll exploit the gap while Kiwi Alaya is focused on the elven army.”

“…Yeah. I’ll ambush the female zombie knight, and you take care of the zombie soldiers. Then the other clerics will secure Kiwi Alaya… Is that plan still good?”

“Yes, of course.”

“What if the enemy includes top brass from the demonic forces? There’s supposed to be a magical beast called Urklow .”

“Well, we can ignore them. Our goal is to eliminate Kiwi. If they interfere, we’ll just eliminate them too.”

“Our opponent is a top official of the demonic forces! Just how do you plan to…”

Hades picked up a sniper rifle and smiled.

“Actually, despite appearances, I’m quite skilled at wolf hunting.”
